LG Innotek has just announced an ultra-slim optical bio sensor module that will be used in both smartphones and wearables. The module is just 1mm thick, consists of a photo diode, 5 LEDs, an integrated circuit, and has the ability to measure heart rates, stress indices, and oxygen saturation levels. LG says its tiny size reduces power consumption by 20% compared to the existing module
