As the head of U.S. energy giant ExxonMobil for the past decade, Rex Tillerson made a major deal with Russia that earned him a friendship award from Russian president Vladimir Putin. But as VOA’s Michael Lipin reports, U.S. sanctions later forced Tillerson to freeze much of that deal – something that frustrated both him and his company.
