Engadget just published a great piece on how HTC and Valve came together to create the Vive VR headset. They start back in 2012 when Valve started their work on VR protoypes and the obstacles they had to overcome. Then they move onto 2013 when HTC decided to get in the VR business. Then finally with the two companies joining forces & releasing the product we have today.
