Apple was ordered to assist the US government in the San Bernardino case by creating a special version of iOS that circumvents its inherent security features. They feel this special version of iOS would be used as a ‘master key’ and oppose this order. They’re doing what they can to challenge the FBI’s demands and prevent this unprecedented use of the All Writs Act of 1789.
