Luca Modric, Ada Hegerberg win football’s 2018 Ballon d’Or | News
Real Madrid’s Croatia midfielder Luka Modric has won the 2018 Ballon d’Or award for the best player in men’s football, while Norwegian forward Ada Hegerberg scooped the inaugural women’s trophy. Modric’s win on Monday at the prestigious awards organised by French Football magazine put an end to the long reign of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who had won every Ballon d’Or since 2008.
