Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will send voters to the polls more than a year ahead of schedule after announcing snap elections for Japan’s parliament. Abe plans to dissolve the lower house on Thursday, according to a senior lawmaker of Shinzo’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), setting up for a vote that could take place as early as October 22nd.
