Meizu’s next affordable smartphone, the M5s, has been leaking a lot lately, which makes sense since we’re very close to its official announcement taking place on February 15. We’ve seen it getting certified by TENAA, doing its thing in a benchmark run, as well as smiling for the camera in some live shots in the wild. Leaked renders have been outed too.
By now we have a pretty good idea about its specs, but one thing that hasn’t been leaked yet is its price. Past rumors spoke about levels varying from around $150 to $220, but now the purported leaked promo material you can see below comes to shed some official-looking light on the matter.
The entry-level model with a 5-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and 10W charging support will retail in China for CNY 999 (that’s approximately $145 or €136). If you want the version with a 5.2-inch touchscreen, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and support for 18W fast charging, you will need to pay CNY 1,199 ($174 or €163). Of course these prices are only valid for the Chinese market, elsewhere things may be different.
The M5s will come with a 13 MP main camera, a 5 MP selfie snapper, the MediaTek MT6753 chipset with a 1.3 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and a 2,930 mAh battery. It should also sport a fingerprint scanner.
