Joe Wicks Tells How to Turn Your Instagram into a Million-Dollar Business

At 30, Joe Wicks is a self-made multi-(probably)-millionaire. He recently revealed that his business turns over £1 million EVERY MONTH, but Joe isn’t a banker or the CEO of a digital start-up. He’s just a very smart guy with a VERY big Instagram account.

For those that don’t know (where have you been?), Joe Wicks is an online PT and fat loss specialist. Also known as the Body Coach his online transformation plan, has been swallowed up by the nation with over 500 people signing up a day.

That led to a six-figure, six-book deal, the first of which shifted 1.2m copies and was Amazon’s number-one bestseller. But that’s not where it all began. His social media accounts are undoubtedly the key to his success. His audience is massive: 1.2m on Instagram, 1.5m on Facebook and 167k on Twitter. A combined reach of just shy of 3m avid followers, all in raptures at his #LeanIn15 lifestyle.

How did he do it? How did he nurture such exponential growth? How do you turn your Instagram channel into a successful, million-pound business? Well, we got the answers from the horse’s mouth; these are Joe Wicks’ top five tips for growing your Instagram audience.

1. Stay consistent

Joe: “So, number one would definitely be consistency. You can’t just put up one post a week and expect to grow a following. It really does take more consistency and being there, even on the days you don’t fancy doing it. If you’re really serious about creating a business and a following and building a community you’ve got to be interactive with them as well as engage with them. So, consistency is one.”

2. Be authentic

Joe: “Second is you have to be authentic. You have to really come across like you want to help people; keep telling people you got this recipe, you got this work out, try it out. Give out some free content. People like to see you’re actually a real guy. You do mean what you’re saying. You’re really genuine. You can’t fake that on social media.

“And it’s like anything, isn’t it? If you just really love what you’re doing, if you’re so apparently and obviously passionate, then people love that. People love knowing that you’re passionate.

“You have probably seen some social media people that you meet in real life and maybe they’re not the same in their social stuff as they are in real life. But I like to think that I am the same in real life as I am on social media. I hope I look like I’m the same person I was in my first video as I am today, even with all the success that’s come with it.”
