Samsung published an official statement about the Galaxy Note 7 battery issues on their UK website. Most of what is said in the post is general information type stuff, but they did talk about what went wrong with the batteries during the manufacturing process. Samsung says the battery cell is overheating “when the anode-to-cathode came into contact,” and says this is a “rare manufacturing process error.”
