A report originating from Reuters claims that Project ARA, or just Ara as it was called, has been shelved by Google. The decision was taken as part of a broader push to streamline the company’s hardware effort. A developer edition of Ara was to be made available in the coming months, but this looks unlikely to be coming directly from Google. Options for licensing agreements for Ara remain open, though no official word has been said on the entire matter.
