It’s being reported that Samsung is going to push an obligatory OTA update to Galaxy Note 7 devices. This is said to be a temporary safety measure, and Samsung hopes it will encourage people get their smartphone replaced. Once the update has been applied, the Galaxy Note 7 will only be able to charge up to 2,100mAh (which is 60 percent of its 3,500mAh capacity battery).
