Battery Recall Could Cost Samsung Up to $1 Billion

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 battery recall process is currently underway, but we haven’t been made aware of its financial impact until now. Samsung has announced they would like to recall all 2.5 million units that were shipped since launch. If all the units are returned, analysts estimate it could cost Samsung up to $1 billion. Which is actually only 5% of Samsung’s estimated net income for the entire year.
