Android Performance- Nougat Vs. Marshmallow

With Nougat officially being pushed to Android devices everywhere, we decided to do a comparison video just for fun. Miles put together a video for XDA TV showing some performance tests on the Nexus 6P. The tests were run on Marshmallow then again on Nougat. Here is what we found.

Test Marshmallow Nougat
Boot Time Winner 🙁
App Launch Time Winner 🙁
App Install Time 🙁 Winner
Antutu 73960 65162
Geekbench 4 Single-Core 1218 687
Geekbench 4 Multi-Core 2281 1903
BaseMarkOS II 1410 598
PCMark 4287 4244

Check out the full video to see the tests in action. Are you surprised by these results? Tests like this are just for fun and show very little difference in real world usage of the device. Let us know what you think in the comments section.
