Xiaomi India has announced a permanent price drop of ₹2,000 ($30) on the Mi 5 sold in India. This brings down the price of the device to ₹22,999 ($343) from its original ₹24,999 ($373). The price drop is very likely a reaction to the strong response to the OnePlus 3 (₹27,999 | $417) and other competing products, and the drop increases the Mi 5’s bang-over-buck quotient.
