JB Kempf’s blog’s latest notes on VLC 3.0 indicate that Chromecast support has been added. You can find the feature in the nightly builds. While this is a big step forward, keep in mind this is in testing stages and not a stable release. Try the build if you want to see how it is shaping up, though!
