Amazon has been recruiting 3rd-party developers to create “skills” for their virtual assistant product, Alexa. Amazon makes this easy for developers to use their Smart Home Skill API within the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) and it is paying off. Amazon has just announced they have over 1,000 3rd-party skills that can be easily enabled to your Alexa device within the companion application.
