Allo, Google’s New Messaging App, Uses Open Whisper System’s Signal Protocol

Google’s new messaging app, Allo, uses the Signal Protocol from Open Whisper System. This open source protocol is used for end-to-end encryption, which Allo uses for private chats. This brings in all of Singal Protocol’s strong encryption properties to Allo’s incognito mode.
