Xiaomi has announced plans to work with the national bank card association China UnionPay to design a mobile payment solution for Xiaomi smartphones. This will pit Xiaomi as a direct competitor against Samsung Pay and Apple Pay in China, and against domestic competitors Alibaba and Tencent.
