Back in December of last year, Open Whisper Systems launched a beta program for what they were calling Signal Desktop. Signal Desktop lets you log into your Signal messaging account via a desktop application and continue chatting from there. This was a closed beta until now, as the company has just announced that anyone can grab the Chrome app and use it.
