Last year, the CEO of Intel hired a Qualcomm executive in hopes that he could turn around the company’s flailing mobile division. This goes against Intel’s tradition of promoting from within and it’s caused multiple executives and veteran employees to leave the company. The 2 latest exits are Kirk Skaugen, the previous head of Intel’s mobile division, and Doug Davis, the head of Intel’s IoT division.
