With Android 5.0 Lollipop, Chrome received a new way to handle tabs. Instead of them being combined in the Chrome app, each tab showed up as an individual card within the Overview/Recents page. This was controversial and the default feature was actually reversed in Chrome recently. If a new Chrome Dev update is a sign of what’s to come, Google might be removing the feature altogether.
