Samsung’s employee count and R&D investments have been increasing for many, many years but 2015 showed a decline in both areas for the first time. The company has been shedding thousands of executives from various divisions and they’ve even dropped the number of R&D centers down to 41 (from 43). This cut back also includes less R&D spending, which has otherwise been increasing every year since 1998.
