According to market researchers, the cost of production for a 5″ FHD AMOLED panel has now fallen below the cost of production for a similar LCD panel. A typical AMOLED panel now costs $14.3 versus the $14.6 that a LTPS LCD panel costs. This trend of declining costs could fuel wider adoption of AMOLED panels for mid range and budget devices.
