Battery life on Marshmallow was said to significantly improve because of Doze, a feature that prevents the device from waking up constantly for unnecessary processes and notifications. Despite the touting behind it and the initial hype, many users are now reporting inconsistent idle times (as Doze doesn’t always kick off), delayed notifications from important sources, and other odd behaviors detrimental to the UX.
