According to someone “familiar with Amazon’s thinking”, it seems like the ecommerce giant has plans to increase their presence in the mobile space. Amazon is allegedly in talk with OEMs at a “factory level” and trying to get them to replace Google’s services with its own. The report doesn’t reveal who, but Amazon described India as a “trillion-dollar market”, so it could happen there first.
