According to the Wall Street Journal, YouTube executives have been meeting with Hollywood studios in an attempt to acquire streaming rights to movies and TV shows. WSJ cites “people familiar with the situation”, but if it does work out in the end, then we could see YouTube becoming a direct competitor to other streaming services like Amazon, Hulu and Netflix.
