Sony Buys Toshiba’s Image Sensor Business For $155 Million

Sony’s wholly owned subsidiary Sony Semiconductor Corporation has bought the image sensor business of Toshiba. The move comes after months of rumors, and removes Toshiba as a primary competitor in the camera and image sensor business. The business move will cost Sony around $155 Million, but on the other hand, significantly increases Sony’s market share compared to competitors.
