In Samsung’s last appeal, they were told to pay $584 million in damages from infringing on Apple’s patents. Samsung insists that the jury wasn’t educated properly and that the patent laws weren’t interpreted how they should be in modern times. This appeal would get the case to the Supreme Court where they get the final verdict on this ongoing patent battle.
