Between 2003 to 2014, Samsung has been able to obtain the most patents related to wearable technology with a total of 600. Research shows that Philips came in second place with around 500, LG and Canon share third and fourth place with around 450 each. When looked at by country, Japan came out on top with 27.6% of the world’s wearable patents, followed by the United States with 22.5%.
