Google just announced that offline navigation is coming to Google Maps in a future update and now that update has been released. Users will need this version 9.17.0 update in order to have this offline navigation feature but it still seems to be a server-side switch. Some are reporting that updating their app instantly gave them the feature, while others say it hasn’t changed anything yet.
